Roorda Dairy LLC

Venture Award Recipient in 2008
Nominated by North West Rural Electric Cooperative

The Roorda family came to the U.S. in 1948, where they began a family dairy operation in the State of Washington.   In 1990 they moved to Idaho.   In 2006 the family decided to move their operation to Iowa and build a 3,300-head dairy facility near Paullina, Iowa. The company started milking cows at their new facility early in 2008.   The Roorda dairy farm produces approximately 30,000 gallons of milk each day and is part of a major trend for growth in the dairy industry in Iowa.
