Green Plains, located in Superior, Iowa is a 55-million-gallon-per-year ethanol facility.  The operation is part of Green Plains Renewable Energy based in Omaha, Nebraska.  The parent company bolstered by the Superior facility is the fourth largest ethanol producer in North America with 657 million gallons of ethanol annually produced.  Green Plains employs 47 people at their operation west of the Superior community in northwest Iowa.
