Outstanding Business of the Year in 2003

The 2003 “Outstanding Business of the Year” Venture Award was presented to Wausau Supply Company located in Stuart.  Wausau Supply, a wholesale distributor of building materials is headquartered in Wausau, Wisconsin with nine locations in the Midwest.  In 1998 the company built a 72,000 sq. ft. facility in Stuart.  The Stuart location soon doubled in size and had further additions to accommodate a manufacturing and painting operation.  The company also was instrumental in extending a rail spur to its facility.  

The Wausau Supply facility is 168,000 sq. ft. The company continues to expand its operation and purchased a 30,000 sq. ft. spec building in the Marks Business Park to house a door manufacturing plant.  The company expanded this facility in 2006 to 120,000 sq. ft.
