Dow AgroSciences develops leading-edge crop protection and plant biotechnology solutions to meet the challenges of the growing world. Dow AgroSciences purchased more than 150 acres of land just northwest of Ames to be the site of an expansion and relocation project. In March 2011, Dow AgroSciences opened a new 29,500 sq. ft., $10 million facility and relocated the company’s central Iowa field research sites near Ames, to accommodate their growing corn and soybean breeding programs. Currently, the operation has 23 full-time employees with expected job growth as plot fields increase next year.
