TrinityRail will break ground in July on their new $60 million facility in the Butler Logistics Park located northwest of Shell Rock. The company expects that when construction is complete by the end of 2020, they will have employment opportunities for 250 people. Jobs include metal fabrication, welding, painting, cleaning, and administrative positions.

TrinityRail, a division of Trinity Industries based in Dallas, Texas, provides services and products for rail transportation, including repairs, maintenance, and modifications. TrinityRail also has manufacturing operations in Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Mexico. TrinityRail selected Butler County based on Iowa’s pro-business climate, well-trained workforce, and operational flexibility.

Butler County REC provides electric power to the Butler Logistics Park and actively worked with the Butler County Development Alliance and other partners to bring this company to Iowa.
