Times Citizen Communications headquartered in Iowa Falls expanded their printing press capabilities a few years ago by acquiring the 20,000 sq. ft. spec building in the Southview Industrial Park. With the expanded printing capabilities more opportunities began to open up for the company. After several successful printing contracts including the production of the Ames Tribune and their family of papers, Times Citizen needed to expand printing production services again. The current expansion, which is approximately a one million dollar investment, will enlarge the original facility by another 7,500 sq. ft. adding 26 new jobs for the community.
The project includes adding two new printing presses and sorting equipment. The expansion also acquires the Allen Printing Company in Clarion that will keep that operation running with 10 employees. Times Citizen Communications offers a wide range of printing services including newspapers, magazines, specialty short run items and other electronic communication products and services. The family-owned operation has been a business leader and intriqual component of the Iowa Falls community and surrounding area with decades of service. Company officials expect the project to be completed this spring. Times Citizen Communications is a past Iowa Venture Award recipient and is provided power by Midland Power Cooperative.
