IADG Welcomes Steve Benne to the Team

IADG is pleased to welcome Steve Benne to the team. He has assumed the role of Project Steve Benne PhotoFinance Analyst and will be assisting with the Rural Economic Development Loan & Grant (REDL&G) applications, Revolving Loan Funds, and other financial tools to support business growth and community vitality.

Most recently, Steve worked for the Iowa Economic Development Authority as a Project Manager in the Community Development Department. Some of the programs he was involved with were the CDBG Owner-Occupied Housing projects, the Workforce Housing Tax Credit program, the State of Iowa's Career Link Employment Transportation CDBG program, and the State of Iowa's Housing Enterprise Zone program. Prior work experience also includes employment with Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission and CoStar/LoopNet.

"I am very eager and excited to join IADG and be a part of an organization dedicated to the economic success of communities throughout the state of Iowa. I look forward to engaging with organizations and communities alike to promote and assist with their goals and objectives," said Benne.

Steve received his degree in Community and Regional Planning from Iowa State and has been involved with the American Planning Association - Iowa Chapter, the Iowa Council on Homelessness and the Council of State Community Development Agencies.

Steve is filling the position recently vacated by Brittany Wirtz who assumed the duties of V.P. of Community Initiatives at IADG when Sue Cosner relocated to South Carlina. Brittany is responsible for the Ripple Effect program and partnership with Aureon and the Independent Telecommunications Companies.
