Hy-Capacity Expands in Humboldt

Hy-Capacity, Inc. based in Humboldt is a remanufacturer of tractor components such as clutches, water and hydraulic pumps and other products for the agriculture industry.  Hy-Capacity, Inc. is a family owned corporation and is nearing completion of a 30,000 sq. ft. expansion of its current facility south of Humboldt.

Steve Olson, Hy-Capacity President said, “the expansion will allow for more efficient production and create additional warehouse space.  We’re pleased with the progress of the project that will create more jobs for the Humboldt region.”   Currently the company employs 130 people and expects to add 28 more employees by next spring.  

The company has a long history of environmental stewardship.  They have implemented a lean manufacturing philosophy to maximize efficiency and reducing waste achieving a “zero-landfill” facility status for its operation.  The expansion also includes geothermal heating and cooling upgrades and high-efficiency lighting.

Hy-Capacity is a past recipient of the Iowa Venture Award and is provided power by Humboldt County REC.
