Oakland Foods processes fully-cooked sausage and round bacon for the foodservice industry.  The company opened in the summer of 1997 after renovating an old beef slaughter plant which had been sitting vacant since 1984.  Oakland Foods has transformed this building into a modern 260,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art facility.  Today the food processor employs over 800 people in southwest Iowa.
