Iowa Base Inc. located in Nashua in Chickasaw County is a precast concrete company that produces light pole bases. The company was founded in 2001 and has grown steadily acquiring similar operations in other states and expanding their market reach. Today, Iowa Base employs eight people in Iowa and is the only manufacturer of the precast light pole bases which saves time and money over conventional onsite pole setting. The family owned company built a new building in Ionia for their manufacturing operation that continues to develop new products and light pole base styles. Iowa Base has received approval by engineering firms for their light pole bases and is growing into other markets and applications such as traffic control signals, electrical control boxes, and airport uses.
