At their meeting in October the Ripple Effect board approved two grants and a zero-interest loan. The city of Wallingford received a matching $5,000 zero-interest loan for the renovation of the city’s community hall. River Valley Telecommunications (Graettinger) also provided a $5,000 loan for the project. The city of Truro received a $5,000 grant to assist the city in hiring an urban design/planning firm for preparation of a citywide revitalization plan; Interstate Communications matched the grant. The third award was a $30,000 grant was made to Western Iowa Telephone Association (Lawton) to satisfy the match requirement for WIATEL’s USDA application for the development of a turnkey office building in Moville.
