The University of Iowa Research Park (formerly Oakdale Research Park) recently opened the UI BioVentures Center life sciences business incubator. The 35,000 sq ft. facility will begin operations in support of life science spin-out companies arising from research at the University and start-up companies attracted to the strengths of the University of Iowa.
The facility contains 20 wet laboratories and sixteen offices along with common meeting rooms and shared equipment room for tenant companies.
A second 3-story wing of the building (45,000 sq ft of speculative space) will house graduates of the business incubator and small-to-medium sized established enterprises that are a good fit for the UI Research Park.
Linn County REC provides power to the University of Iowa Research Park and has been a strong partner with the University of Iowa on previous development projects.
