Southbridge Business Park Takes Shape
Woodbury REC and NIPCO have partnered with the City of Sioux City on the development of the new Southbridge Business Park. Located on the southern edge of Sioux City, Iowa. An extensive planning effort by the City of Sioux City and its partners has resulted in the annexation of approximately 350 city-owned acres and the development of vital infrastructure services. Key infrastructure components under development include a 10MW electric substation, road paving with improved access to I-29, a new 10mgd water plant, and a rail spur connected to the Union Pacific. The site includes other multi-modal transportation assets including the Big Soo Barge Terminal and Sioux City Gateway Airport.
Mayor Mike Hobart commented, “We’re fortunate to have such proactive partners as Woodbury REC. Our success depends on our ability to work with our partners to provide ‘shovel-ready’ sites for development.” Woodbury REC provides power for the Southbridge Business Park. Major infrastructure projects are anticipated to be completed during the summer of 2011.
