ITC Midwest Locates In Perry

ITC Midwest LLC., the company that recently acquired electric high-voltage transmission lines in the central Iowa region, has purchased the 30,000 sq.ft. spec building located in the Perry Industrial Park.   The warehousing distribution project will eventually serve as a base of operations for 25 ITC Midwest staff, according to Richard Jones, Perry Industries Economic Development Inc. President.
The company has started to work on the facility for occupancy later this summer.  ITC Midwest purchased the high voltage electric power lines from Alliant Energy’s Interstate Power and Light Co. (IPL) subsidiary in 2007.  The purchase included the acquisition of approximately 6,800 miles of 34,500-volt (34.5 kV) and higher voltage transmission lines and approximately 170 transmission substations located in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Missouri.

Guthrie County REC was instrumental in partnering with CIPCO and Perry Industries Development to build the spec building.   The partnership built the industrial park originally and another 30,000 sq.ft. spec building which is now home to Percival.  Guthrie REC will provide power to the ITC Midwest project.
