IADG Honors Development Groups With Silver Shovel Awards

Wright County Economic Development, Midwest Partnership, and Appanoose Economic Development Corporation were all recently presented the IADG Silver Shovel Award for their economic development leadership and accomplishments.

The Silver Shovel Award honors outstanding leadership, innovation and achievement in business and community development as well as collaboration with IADG and its utility partners.  In presenting awards Rand Fisher, IADG president, highlighted numerous accomplishments of the organizations and their local commitment to economic development efforts.  

 
The Silver Shovel Award recognition was established to help commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Iowa Area Development Group and its economic development mission.   
 
The Silver Shovel recognition also brought with it $1,000 contributions from the Iowa
Area Development Group Community Foundation.  The financial awards will allow
the local groups to advance economic development through contributions to local 501c3 organizations.  The IADG Community Foundation was established to facilitate community based philanthropy, entrepreneurship and economic development throughout rural Iowa.
