Country Maid is making great progress on their new 51,000 sq.ft. bakery facility in West Bend.   Work began last spring following an approval from USDA Rural Development on a financial package sponsored in part by Northwest Telephone Cooperative Association in Havelock for a rural economic loan to Country Maid.  Additional funding for the project came from the revolving loan funds of Humboldt County REC, Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative and Corn Belt Power.  Corn Belt Power Cooperative also helped the City of West Bend with a USDA application for a road improvement project to Country Maid  and the industrial park.

Company CEO Darin Massner stated, “We have added 10 new employees so far and expect to need more people in 2011.  Our Butter Braid pastry production began in August at the new facility with more production lines being installed and planned.”

The company plans to be finished with their project later this year.   Ripple Effect and IADG assisted with the financial packages and USDA applications.
