Biomedical Synergies Locates in Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant became the right community at the right time for Biomedical Synergies, a health care consulting and software development firm focused on tracking human tissues for the surgical transplant industry.   The company has developed a tissue management and tracking software system called TRACS4Life.  The software methodology focuses on patient safety and risk reduction in the tissue and organ transplant process.

“This is transformational technology for the health care industry and we are so pleased that Biomedical Synergies will be locating in Mount Pleasant,” said Kiley Miller, Mount Pleasant’s Economic Development Director.   The company will lease part of the Alaniz South building in Mount Pleasant for an operations and customer support center that will initially employ about 30 people.

Access Energy Cooperative will provide power to the Biomedical facility and was instrumental in securing the project for Mount Pleasant by utilizing the cooperative’s revolving loan fund. As part of the recruitment effort, the City of Mount Pleasant and Henry County Industrial Development Corporation constructed a fiber optic loop through Crossroads Industrial Park. This loop will ensure redundant high-speed data services for Biomedical Synergies and other businesses in the park.
