Big River Resources Expands in West Burlington

Iowa’s ethanol industry continues to grow and expand with several existing plants that were built in recent years are now doubling in size and production capacity.   Big River Resources located in West Burlington will become a 92 million gallon ethanol production facility with this most recent expansion expected to be completed by the end of 2007.   Big River currently employs 48 people.   With the expansion the plant estimates it will need a total of 60.  Big River Resources has two other ethanol projects underway, one in Grinnell and another in Galva, Illinois.

“Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative has been excellent to cooperate and work with.  Their expertise and guidance in many important areas has made a major contribution to the success of our company,” said Raymond E. Defenbaugh, President, Big River Resources.
